Wooden Products and Woodware Manufacturers in India

India's woodware comes from clusters with long carving and turning traditions: Saharanpur for carved sheesham, Jodhpur for mango and acacia homeware, and many smaller units across Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

We help homeware and lifestyle brands source wooden kitchenware and decor, and manage the issues that matter most with wood: moisture, finish and timber documentation.

Woodware & Wooden Products: product range and subcategories

Trays

Serving trays, ottoman trays and decorative trays with handles or inlay.

Bowls

Salad, serving and decorative bowls, turned or carved.

Chopping boards

End-grain and edge-grain boards, paddle and serving boards.

Kitchen accessories

Spoons, salt boxes, utensil holders and spice racks.

Decorative wood

Candle holders, boxes, frames and carved accents.

Mixed materials

Wood with marble, enamel, metal or resin.

Indian woodware capabilities

Indian workshops combine machine cutting and turning with hand carving and finishing. Mango and acacia are widely used for homeware; sheesham suits carved and premium pieces. Factories can add inlay, burnt finishes, enamel, metal fittings and painted decoration.

Woods and finishes

Mango wood

Widely available, light and affordable; often from fruit trees past their productive age.

Acacia

Dense and durable with strong grain; popular for boards and bowls.

Sheesham

Rich colour and carving quality for premium items.

Finishes

Food-safe oils and waxes for food contact; lacquers and paints only for decorative items.

Customisation and private label

Sizes, shapes, handles, finishes and laser-engraved logos can all be customised. Brands often develop coordinated collections across wood and other materials, which we source from several workshops and inspect together.

Sampling and production process

01

Design and wood choice

Drawings or references, wood species, size and finish.

02

Samples

Workshop samples for shape, weight and finish.

03

Moisture plan

Kiln or air drying to an agreed moisture range before finishing.

04

Bulk production

Cutting, shaping, sanding and finishing with in-line checks.

05

Final inspection

Cracks, warping, finish, moisture readings, marking and packing.

MOQ and lead-time considerations

Handmade woodware often starts at modest quantities per design. Timber seasoning and drying add time, and monsoon months raise humidity, so production plans include drying and moisture checks.

Compliance and documentation

EU Deforestation Regulation

Wood products including kitchen woodware need EUDR due-diligence statements from 30 Dec 2026 for large and medium operators (30 June 2027 for small ones). Suppliers must supply plot-level geolocation of the timber.

US Lacey Act

US importers declare plant species and country of harvest for many wood products.

Food-contact rules

Items touching food must meet EU Regulation 1935/2004 (plus national rules such as Germany's LFGB) and US FDA requirements; migration tests are done on the finished item.

Fumigation and ISPM 15

Wooden pallets and packaging need ISPM 15 treatment; some products need fumigation certificates.

Packaging and export logistics

Wood is packed only after moisture checks, with silica gel and breathable wrapping where needed to prevent mould. Cartons are designed for stacking in containers, and fumigation is arranged where the destination requires it.
