Stone and Pottery Artware Manufacturers in India

Rajasthan is India's stone heartland, with marble from Makrana and sandstone across the state; Agra is known for marble inlay, and Odisha for soapstone. Pottery comes from centres such as Khurja in Uttar Pradesh and Jaipur, known for blue pottery.

We help homeware and decor brands source stone and ceramic artware, and manage weight, breakage and food-contact testing.

Stone and pottery capabilities

Materials

Marble

White and coloured marbles in polished or honed finishes; natural veining varies.

Sandstone and soapstone

Softer stones for carving and decor.

Ceramics and terracotta

Stoneware, earthenware and terracotta with various glazes.

Customisation and private label

Shapes, sizes, finishes and glaze colours can be developed to your design, with moulds for repeat ceramic shapes. Branding usually goes on stickers, tags or packaging.

Bulk production

Cutting or forming, finishing and firing with in-line checks.

05

Inspection and packing test

AQL inspection and carton drop test.

MOQ and lead-time considerations

Minimums vary from small runs for carved stone to kiln-load quantities for glazed ceramics. Stone is heavy, so freight cost per piece matters at quotation.

Compliance

Ceramic food contact

Ceramics for food must meet lead and cadmium limits (EU Directive 84/500/EEC, US FDA guidance and California Proposition 65 for many US buyers).

Stone for food use

Marble and stone items for food contact should be sealed or finished appropriately; we test where needed.

EU / UK general product safety

Consumer products need a responsible economic operator in the EU (GPSR) and traceability details on product or packaging; Great Britain applies its own product safety rules.

Packaging and export logistics

Heavy and fragile items need strong inner packaging, corner protection and limited carton weights. Large stone pieces may ship in wooden crates treated to ISPM 15.

International buyer questions

Is Indian marble suitable for food use?

Marble boards and bowls are used with food when finished correctly, but they are porous. We test and advise on finish and care labels.

Do ceramic products need testing?

Yes, for food-contact items: lead and cadmium release tests for the EU, UK and US.

How do you ship heavy stone products?

With strong inner packing, weight limits per carton and crates for large pieces, and freight cost checked at quotation.

Will natural stone vary?

Yes. Veining and colour vary naturally; we approve a range with reference samples.
