Spoons, forks & knives · Cutlery sourcing in India

Stainless Steel Spoons, Forks, Table & Butter Knives

Spoons, forks and knives can be sold as open stock or as part of a matched pattern. Each piece has its own die, so pattern consistency across pieces is part of the specification.

We source individual pieces and full patterns, specify weight and thickness per piece, and check edges, tines and finish on production.

Inspection follows our five checkpoints — factory audit, pre-production, during production, pre-shipment and loading — against the sealed golden sample. See quality control in India.

Minimums, sampling & private label

Existing patterns allow moderate minimums per piece. New patterns need a die per piece.

Every programme can be produced under your own brand, with your labels and packaging. Read about private label manufacturing in India.

Buying for the USA, UK and Europe

Market-specific sizing, labelling and testing notes for this category are covered in the cutlery & flatware buyer guide.

Buyer questions

Why are knives a different grade from spoons and forks?

Knife blades need to hold an edge, so they use hardenable martensitic stainless steel such as 410 or 420. Spoons and forks use 18/10, 18/8 or 18/0.

Do knives need special marking for the US?

Yes. US rules require knives and forks to be marked with their country of origin by die-stamping, engraving, etching or a similar permanent method (19 CFR 134.43).

Can I buy open stock instead of sets?

Yes. Open stock suits hospitality buyers and replacement programmes.
