Braided jute
Hand-braided jute stitched into rounds, ovals and rectangles.
Jute & natural-fibre rugs
Jute rugs bring a natural, textured look to living spaces at accessible price points. India grows and processes jute at scale and Indian weavers make braided, handwoven, loop and blended jute rugs for retail and e-commerce programmes worldwide.
Natural fibre behaves differently from wool or cotton. Colour varies from batch to batch, the fibre reacts to moisture and the hand can be coarse. We specify those properties up front so there are no surprises when the container is opened.

Herringbone, diamond and plain weaves on handlooms.
Thick, textured looped constructions for a tactile look.
Softer and more colour-flexible, often with cotton borders or patterns.
Wool adds softness and resilience to a natural ground.
Rounds, scalloped and fringed edges, and contrast borders.
Inspection follows our five checkpoints — factory audit, pre-production, during production, pre-shipment and loading — against the sealed golden sample. See quality control in India.
Jute rugs are well suited to repeat programmes in core sizes. Custom blends, colours or shapes add sampling time; we help plan core and seasonal SKUs together.
Every programme can be produced under your own brand, with your labels and packaging. Read about private label manufacturing in India.
Market-specific sizing, labelling and testing notes for this category are covered in the carpets & rugs buyer guide.
Jute has a natural earthy smell that fades. A strong or musty smell usually means the rug was packed damp. We check dryness before packing and specify moisture control in the packaging.
Pure jute is not suitable for outdoor or wet areas because it absorbs moisture. For outdoor use, recycled PET or polypropylene rugs are a better choice.
Jute is a natural fibre and its shade changes with crop and processing. We agree an acceptable shade range on a reference before production and inspect against it.
Yes. Jute-cotton and jute-wool blends are common; they add softness and allow coloured patterns or borders.
