Hand-knotted carpets · Bhadohi–Mirzapur · Jaipur
A hand-knotted carpet is built knot by knot on a vertical loom. Because every knot is tied around the warp, the pile is part of the structure — which is why well-made hand-knotted rugs last for generations and command a premium.
India's hand-knotting is concentrated in the Bhadohi–Mirzapur belt, Jaipur and Agra. We help importers, interior designers and retailers source hand-knotted carpets with a clear specification, controlled colour and inspection on the loom, not just at the end.

Inspection follows our five checkpoints — factory audit, pre-production, during production, pre-shipment and loading — against the sealed golden sample. See quality control in India.
Hand-knotted carpets can be woven as single pieces, so minimums are usually set per design and colourway rather than in large volumes. Custom-dyed yarn and very large sizes add sampling time.
Every programme can be produced under your own brand, with your labels and packaging. Read about private label manufacturing in India.
Market-specific sizing, labelling and testing notes for this category are covered in the carpets & rugs buyer guide.
It depends on size and knot density. A small, coarser rug may take weeks; a large, finely knotted piece can take several months on the loom. We confirm a realistic schedule with the factory before you order.
Not always. Higher knot counts allow finer detail, but many contemporary and Tibetan-knot designs look best at a moderate density. The right density depends on the design and the use.
Yes. We work from your artwork or CAD, agree colours with pom-poms, weave a strike-off or corner sample and then the full piece.
We check knot density, design and colour accuracy, size and squareness, pile height, wash quality and finishing against the approved sample, then supervise packing.
